Michael Schmidt Yacht Builders choose Victron Energy equipment

Yacht Builders Michael Schmidt, have teamed up with naval architect Lorenzo Argento of Brenta Designs and eminent architect Sir David Chipperfield CBE RA RDI RIBA to create a sailing superyacht, the Brenta 80 DC.

Schmidt is calling the 80-foot yacht an accumulation of his four decades in the sailing industry. “I am building a boat without concession, just beautiful and suiting me. I want it simple, functional and fast. A special blend of old and new”, the experienced sailor explains. It will be launched in Spring 2015, the first in a series of luxury yachts from his new venture Michael Schmidt Yachtbau.

The Brenta 80 DC is being built in Greifswald, Germany on the Baltic Sea. Michael Schmidt sailor and ship builder is the former CEO of Hanse. Michael Schmidt has been in the yachting industry for over 40 years.

For the on-board power systems of the Brenta 80 DC, the luxury yacht is equipped with Victron Energy batteries and chargers. According to Andreas Bock, Chief Operations Officer at Michael Schmidt Yachtbau, “Victron Energy products meet the high standards and demands this project requires.”
