A sleeker, more modern looking MultiPlus in the 500VA – 800VA range with voltages of 12, 24 and 48V is set to replace the earlier MultiPlus Compact range. If you are familiar with Victron Energy products you might just have noticed that 48V is now included in the new range, which wasn’t the case with the Compacts. The new range is gradually being introduced. Here are the ones planned for stock at the end of July.
Stock arriving end of July
- MultiPlus 12/800/35-16 230V VE.Bus
- MultiPlus 24/800/16-16 230V VE.Bus
- MultiPlus 48/800/9-16 230V VE.Bus
What’s the difference?
Very little is the answer as the new design has all the exceptional features from before, plus the new sleeker and more modern look.
The new design, when comparing the new models above with comparable earlier Compacts has slightly differing dimensions – a little wider and a bit smaller in depth – as h x w x d in mm for the new 800VA range is 375 x 240 x 100, compared to 375 x 214 x 110 previously.
And let’s not forget the price – it’s now less than the original Compact.
Connections

MultiPlus Magic
If you are an end user you might not be aware of all that can be done with a MultiPlus. Here’s a précis of this multifunctional product.
The MultiPlus, as the name suggests, is a combined inverter and charger in one elegant package. Its many features include a true sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, hybrid PowerAssist technology, plus multiple system integration features.
To learn more please see the blog ‘MultiPlus magic: Small generator, big power‘, where I do my best to explain much that a MultiPlus can do.
Conclusion
Important note: The 500VA is a Multi at present, as it lacks PowerAssist, paralleling and three-phase capabilities. That however is set to change with a firmware and hardware update, so it too will be a new model and fully featured MultiPlus, just as the 800VA currently is. For now if you require those capabilities in the 500VA Multi format, we recommend you purchase the 800VA MultiPlus version, rather than wait for the new updated MultiPlus 500VA version.
