VRM Portal introduction
Victron Remote Management (VRM) is a free service provided by Victron Energy. This service enables you to remotely monitor and control your Victron Energy equipment all over the world. It also enables you to set alarms, like an alarm on low battery voltage or a geofence alarm.
VRM is available via a website or by using an app.
After setting up your account and enabling your product to log data to the VRM portal you are ready to monitor and manage your system.
After logging in, the main screen will open showing the information from the tab 'Live feed'.
The live feed tab shows real time system performance information regarding:
- Solar Yield
- Grid status, including details on how much energy is fed back to the grid or used from the grid
- Generated solar energy in Wh
- Charging state of the batteries
- Weather conditions
In order to have the information regarding solar yield and consumption at your disposal, there are some preconditions to be met. Below the requirements will be described.
For systems configured with a MultiPlus or Quattro, respectively firmware version 154, 205, 300 or above (so 161 is also ok, just as version 206 etc.) is needed to have the solar yield and consumption information represented within the VRM portal.
Firmware version | System Configuration | Solar yield and consumption information available |
---|---|---|
110-143 | Basic systems with Virtual Switch functionality for the old microprocessor. Examples basic system: automatic generator start/stop and forcing the inverter/charger in inverter mode even though AC is available (AC ignore). All stocked products have xxxx1xx firmware. | No |
150-153 | Basic systems with Virtual Switch functionality for the old and new microprocessor. Examples basic system: automatic generator start/stop and forcing the inverter/charger in inverter mode even though AC is available (AC ignore). All stocked products have xxxx1xx firmware. | No |
154-199 | Basic systems with Virtual Switch functionality for the old and new microprocessor. Examples basic system: automatic generator start/stop and forcing the inverter/charger in inverter mode even though AC is available (AC ignore). All stocked products have xxxx1xx firmware. | Yes, but only for systems with the new microprocessor (26/27) |
200-204 | Systems with automatic control that can't be made with the Virtual Switch. Instead of the virtual switch tab, the Assistants tab will appear. Firmware xxxx2xx firmware is available for both hardware with old and new type microprocessors. | No |
205-299 | Systems with automatic control that can't be made with the Virtual Switch. Instead of the virtual switch tab, the Assistants tab will appear. xxxx2xx firmware is available for both hardware with old and new type microprocessors. | Yes, but only for systems with the new microprocessor (26/27) |
300 | For Hub-1, Hub-2 and other systems with AC- and DC-coupled PV firmware version xxxx3xx is needed. Assistant functionality available. Firmware version works only with new microprocessor (26/27) | Yes |
301-399 | For Hub-1, Hub-2 and other systems with AC- and DC-coupled PV firmware version xxxx3xx is needed. Assistant functionality available. Firmware version works only with new microprocessor (26/27) | Yes |
Before applying changes to your system, read the documentation and instructions carefully. More information about which firmware type to choose for an installation, and the updating instruction, is available in our PDF VE.Bus firmware versions explained
